Due to the rapidly growing popularity of Bourne Free, the gardens are no longer able to cope with the number of people attending the event and so for 2009 the entire programme has been shaken up.

The most popular acts from last year's jazz concert will be joining a brand new Launch Night in The Triangle on Friday 10th July from 7pm. An evening of smooth sounds and funky grooves will be accompanied by the official Opening Ceremony and a spectacular tribute performance, not to mention a bar tent and hog roast.

This year there will be a twelve hour Street Party in The Triangle from 11am through to 11pm on Saturday 11th July. The main stage will host a great line up of performers, from singers and musicians to drag artists and circus acts. Also on offer, a massive bar tent, wide range of food stands and plenty of stalls to browse.

However the beautiful Lower Gardens have not been abandoned, with another new element to the weekend being introduced, a special Family Funday on Sunday 12th July from 1pm. There will be music and games for all the family to enjoy, children's face painting, entertainers, and it's an ideal setting for a leisurely picnic.

The first ever Pride Parade through the streets of Bournemouth was such a success in 2008 that it is again at the centre of the weekend. Prepare your fancy dress costumes for a fun-filled circus themed procession on Saturday 11th July at 1pm from Meyrick Park and join thousands of people walking the route or on floats.

Entry to the Launch Night, Pride Parade and Family Funday will be FREE. Entry to the Street Party will require a Bourne Free Wristband, these are available from now until a week before the event for just £7 from www.bournefree.co.uk and for £10 after, all proceeds go to Bourne Free which is a registered charity.
